Safe Sleep
Safe sleep was made after noticing whenever Yahoo Messenger was running and sleep mode was initiated
Yahoo Messenger would break the internet connection after coming out of system sleep mode. Even though
it was set not to sign in automatically it would try to reconnect if it was running beforehand regardless
of what it was instructed to do. Without using Safe Sleep it would break the connection every time if your computer
was in sleep mode for any significant length of time.

What Safe Sleep does is shut down one application before your computer sleeps automatically so that when it
awakes your computer can connect to the internet without another application hammering it until it sucessfully blocks
your internet connection and you have to restart your computer and close a number of applications that you were
trying to keep open in the first place. If you notice that your computer can't connect to the internet after coming out of
sleep you may find that Yahoo Messenger or another server based application is the culprit. If you wish you can just
write a note to yourself to shut off the offending program and tape it to your monitor if you wish but Safe Sleep will
save you that headache by saving that program name in memory and automatically shutting down the interfering
application in the background so that when your program awakes your internet connection is still enabled and you
don't have to go through the rigamarole of restarting your computer again, just the offending program if desired.

Safe Sleep runs in the background and only shows a icon in the taskbar to let youknow it's active. Once you set
it up you will never have to touch it again because it optionally launches with Windows every time you start your
computer. You don't have to restart your computer either to start using Safe Sleep, as soon as you enter the name
of the program you want to shut down it stored in memory for all future use and is immediately active for your
benefit.

To have it start automatically with Windows just check the checkbox and Safe Sleep will instantly remember your
choice to start Safe Sleep when Windows starts. If you reconsider just uncheck the checkbox for autostart and
Safe Sleep will only start when you wish though autostart is the recommended option.

Set up- Just check the autostart check box and enter a program name in the Add Program box provided. For
example - "YahooMessenger" and click the ADD button. Yahoo Messenger will now be closed whenever you select
sleep on your computer from keyboard, when you select sleep from a menu, close the lid of a laptop or any other
way you select sleep on your computer. You don't have to add ".exe" to the name just the basic program name.
If you're not sure of the name of the running program press Ctrl + Alt + Delete simultaneously and then open the
task manager. Under proceses find the name of the processs you want to kill when your computer sleeps and
enter it in the Add Program box. Note that Safe Sleep is case sensitive so the program name must match exactly
without the file extension. Only one program can be entered because once sleep is intiated there is only enough
time to close one program.
